Not Sponsored, Just Curious: Apps I’m Testing Right Now

A first look at Finch, Bilt, Treecard, and Yuka — apps for wellness, financial rewards, sustainability, and ingredient transparency I’m currently exploring (reviews coming soon!).

I’m a sucker for new apps. I like being an early adopter, testing things out, poking around to see what works and what doesn’t. After working at a couple startups, my brain just doesn’t consume like a “normal” user anymore — I’m always tracking the onboarding flow, copy choices, friction points, retention tactics. It’s a blessing and a curse.
(Sorry — no dating apps in this post. That topic deserves its own article, purely out of respect for my extensive experience.)

Lately, I’ve been experimenting with a few apps that blend values I care about — wellness, sustainability, and smarter living — with everyday habits. I haven’t used them long enough to give full reviews, but here’s what I’m exploring:

📱 Finch – A wellness app with serious Tamagotchi vibes. You set goals, log habits, and nurture a little bird that grows as you care for yourself. It’s part digital pet, part self-care tracker — surprisingly motivating (and very Gen Z-coded, in the best way).

👉 I even picked a micropet just for you: join me on Finch

🏡 Bilt – An app that lets renters earn rewards points just by paying rent. You can redeem points for travel, fitness classes, or even your next rent payment. I’m testing how smooth the experience really is — but so far, it feels like a no-brainer if you’re renting.

🌱 Treecard – I don’t use the debit card, but I do track my steps and exchange earned points to fund reforestation projects around the world. It makes my walks feel a little more meaningful — and climate-positive.

👉 Join me on Treecard — use referral code fernanda-391 to plant 1 tree and get 50 points for free!

🥦 Yuka – Scan food or cosmetics, get a score based on ingredients and health impact. I’ve started using it at the grocery store and it’s already messing with my snack decisions.

I’ll share deeper reviews soon — the kind with screenshots, pros/cons, and product thoughts (because apparently I can’t help myself). But for now, these are on my radar

Tried any of them? Curious what’s working for you.
